I saw a Cook on TV fry Bacon in a skillet Of preheated Oil. Have you ever cooked bacon this way?

No I haven't and I think the cook is a quack. I have worked in restaurants however that deep fry it. Easier and faster and takes up less room on the grill I suppose.

Yes. I used to work in a cafeteria. You would be amazed what people want deep fried. Bacon, hot dogs, sausage, French toast, and so on. I've done it all.

Deep frying bacon makes it very small and very crisp. Great for bacon bits.

I might wipe a skillet with a paper towel which has oil on it so as to make the pan no stick, but I've honestly never had an issue getting bacon to create 10x as much oil as I need.

No, but I have cooked pancetta that way. I can imagine very very lean bacon may also need some fat. Turkey bacon (oh the blasphemy even typing that) would probably need oil too.
