I don't think so. They are simply like other loans but are meant for a specific niche. Following are some of its advantages that cannot be neglected:
    Provides Quick Cash
    Maintain your credit rating
    Are Easy to borrow
    Eligibility criteria are minimal

    Regards

yes they deserve a bad reputation. look at the interest they charge. its huge. and the ones who can least afford to pay these high fees are the ones they cater too. if your in a very tight spot you have to do what you have to do, but its almost immoral what they do.

The point of them is to give money when you need it yes, but they are set up to prey on people who do not have a lot of cash. That is why they use them in the first place. Then they charge very high interest, making it very hard to pay back and they keep charging to "extend" the loan. Not helpful and it gets you trapped!

I don't believe that payday loans deserve a bad reputation. Mostly because they are very useful for those who are able to pay them off. And for those who need to get themselves back on their feet.

Payday loans, rent to own, and loaning money to the Nigerian Government when they call on the phone all belong in the same category.
Their focus is to separate you from your money.

I don't know - when I made less money, I had to use a payday loan on more than one occasion. When I paid them off on time and didn't let the interest build up, they were a BIG help between paydays. Yes the interest was high, but so was the risk they were taking with me. If I had other means, I wouldn't have used a payday loan. Since I didn't, I was happy they were there to help me.
