  • They have more of a life then you. And cooler names and avatars.
  • damn, i'm scared to touch this one. Here I go. So, to clarify your question audience, are you asking the "top 5" directly for their answer or do you assume us lower ranked folks, have a clue about their lives and hobbies? They may be givers, people that genuinely want to be there for others. I don't know for sure.
  • i have asked myself the same question...
  • I didn't mean to be offensive, I just want to get in on the secret.
  • Being #3, I guess this means me. A large number of my points are from moderation. I go through and recommend to AB Staff to move questions to correct categories. Users don't always place their questions in the right spot, so I help tidy up the place. Also, I've answered a large number of questions. Some that are silly, some that are about what my favorite such and such is, some about my opinion on what a person should do in any situation, but I am proudest of the factual answers I give that help answer someone's question. For instance, What is this pill, or things like that. Most people don't really care, but I was able to help that one person. Most of the points come from the popular questions though. If a question becomes popular (50 answers or more) and I was one of the first people to give a good answer, it tends to constantly gain points. And to answer the first part of your question, yes I have a life. I've got a great wife, a challenging job, and have a lot of great friends, but I do spend too much time on this site.
  • The give high-quality, well thought out, and well-written answers.
