The closest seriously large flea market we have is in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl. I have never been there though. I am told it is filled with tons and tons of bargains and it is huge. I did go to one many years ago in Torrance..it had row upon row of stalls..in some cases people spread blankets on the ground to display their wares. After awhile one gets an overload because everything starts to look alike! :) ((hugs))
We have a Tuesday market nearby.
Permanent structures surrounding an open space the size of a football field.
In the open market every Tuesday villagers assemble with whatever produce they have to sell. Mostly samples of grain and fruit
The permanent structures are open throughout the week and thy stock items the village folk will need to buy with the money earned selling their produce. Things like grocery, utensils, clothing, tools, discs etc..
They also house offices of the purchase agents of the bigger dealers in the city.
Just outside this area there is the Tuesday cattle market too.
The best part I like is the 2 fine open air eateries that comeup every Teusday here.
We have 2 that we go to real often, one in a town called Roseville Denio Farmer's Market & Auction
http://www.denios.org/ (1947)
During good weather we go about once a month, they have many permanent booths, fresh fruit & vegetables, tools, furniture, clothing, shoes, toys and just about any thing in between, from old to new.
Its about 45 miles from us one way. runs every Friday,Sat. & Sun.
The other is more of a local one called Simpson Lane, much of the same items just on a small scale and goes every Sat & Sun, we go most Sun's and is about 18 miles from us one way
The largest local one is at parking area on a high school. Its got loads of temporary vendors. There's no carnival games, but all the other stuff is there minus permanent bulidings. Will you be selling there or shopping soon? ;)
Do you spend quality time with yourself?

You're reading What exists at your largest local flea market: a large parking lot with rows of temporary sellers, permanent buildings/vendors, foodstands, food market, video / carnival games, or what?

I can remember when it was no big deal to make my way around such "large" places .. excited to be there. Now? I can do a few "sections" .. plan to rest over food or drink now and again if I want to keep going .. and see that if I want to keep larger flea markets in my future, I'll need to investigate one of those motorized scooters or bring a walker with a seat in it!
One day I should take out an ad asking "why aren't there more places to sit down" .. in lots of public places. lol No, wouldn't apend my money that way ... but still have the question. There's still potential money to be made from people who might not stay that long to spend any if wiped out! (lol - did you hear the voice of personal experience in that? lol)
