You're reading Dog Lovers...I have a great big 1/ 2 gsd...I love the "big man" to bits but every night he snores, farts, and dreams about "stuff" He does ths to a point that he actually wakes me up once in a while. What do you think he might be dreaming about?

He snorts, barks and rolls around on the floor. Now this dog came to me at 7 weeks old and has lived a pretty stress free life. But he still wakes me up once in a while with his middle of the night noise. What canit be?

I've asked a similar question and received answers like "mice", "a ghost"... and one weirdo who thought I should start crating the poor dog again (at 8 months!) - I suspect they just have an active mental life, even when they're sleeping. I'd love to peek into my dog's mind for a few seconds :-)

Now this is just me,mindyou. The great tragedy of his life is that no matter what he did, he simply could not get the (now deceased) cat to love him. He tried so hard, but she just wasn't having it. He even took his tennis ball and ploped it right down in front of her. She still sat on the couch and batted his nose and hated him till the day she died. I think he coaches musical theater in his sleep, and Gilda Kitty is still his STAR...

Aaaah... sounds like the Crazy Kat comics from the 1920s - you know, Crazy loved this sadistic mouse called Ignatz who threw bricks at him, which he would take as proof of Ignatz's enduring affection...

Daniel, I had no idea anyone knows Crazy Kat! They were the precursor to Tom and Jerry at MGM.

Strange moment of intercontinental resonance! You've got to love the internet. You know you can download some of the very old (pre-1918) Crazy Kat shorts from www.archive.org? They've fallen out of copyright.
