Food poisoning can be caused by viruses, bacterias, parasites, and toxins, so alcohol will not solve most of them. Acetaldehyde is a by-product of metabolizing alcohol. Acetaldehyde induces a deficiency of vitamin B1. Thiamin, or Vitamin B1, is so critical to brain and nerve function it is often called the nerve vitamin.
