Help answer this question below.

Loud noise coming out from under passenger-side dash when heat or air is turned on in 98 honda civic. Sounds like fan rotor hitting side. Heat and air work fine - just loud. What could it be?

    Most blowers use a squirrel-cage fan which is notorious for getting noisy if ANY little thing goes wrong... like it being old, dirty, or unhappy.
    If it has bushings (better ones have bearings instead) and those bushings are worn, you get instant rattling not unlike what you describe.

    I had the same problem. Chipmonks built a nest in my heater's squirrel cage and Acorns were bouncing off the fan rotor. i'll kill dem bastards

    Judging by the date you posted that question and the time im answering the question...im guessing you already got your blower motor replaced, cause after that loud noise, after awhile it just quit right?

    Sounds like something got into the vent and is hitting the fan blade.
