Yes it is, welcome to work, you will get the recognition one day.
You have to realize that the employment laws are not made to benefit the employees but to protect the employer so, yes, they pretty much can get away with murder
it is a fact of life the more you do,the less you get ,it's sad but so true:)
Unlesss you have a contract outlining raises, I'm afraid the only raises that you are entitled to are raises in minimum wage. If you make 5/hr and min wage goes to 6, they must pay you 6. If you make 8/hr and minimum goes from 5 to 6, they owe you nothing.
Unless you have a contract where you negotiated one, I don't believe employers are under any legal obligation to give you a raise. Sounds like a case where you need to speak up for yourself. Employers are not known for voluntarily giving up money;)

Where would a small claims court case be held? If somebody drags you into small claims court, and they are 300 miles away, where would the trial be held? I assume the pursuer (plaintiff) would go where the defendant is. Is that right?

You're reading If I consider myself to be an outstanding employee at this "5-star" gourmet market, I've worked there for nearly 4 years because I go away to school, I've trained several cashiers, I deliver and cater, but they've never given me a raise, is that legal?
