  • It can depend on who is doing the piercing and how well you take care of the piercing after the fact (it is considered a wound). Many piercing artists will look at an area and tell you that it can not be pierced because the tissue is too fibrous or a variety of other reasons. I can tell you that my belly button piercing did leave a scar that does not seem to go away. It is not a large ugly scar, but a scar none the less. The best thing you can do is find a piercing artist you trust, that has a good reputation, and of course, one that operates in a clean sterile environment. Listen to what they say even if they decide that you should not pierce your naval. • I got news for you, bud. Your belly button is a scar. A scar from your cord at birth. So whether or not the piercing would leave a scar, is different. Because your belly button is a scar. : )
  • I had my bellybutton peirced for about two years when i was 18 and 19 and took it out and now I have a noticable scar and I am no 25. It definitely scars!

  • yes. a piercing is a wound and depending on how the life of the piercing ends, it will scar in some way or another. mine grew out and damn its a nasty scar.
  • yes it does leave a scar, not very noticable unless you have a baby. than it turns brown and seems never to go away
  • Yes it does leave a scar. When I took mine out the bottom healed pretty quick, but the top hole never closed so I decided to get it re-pierced and you can still kind of see the scar but it's behind the new belly button piercing.
