The trinity thing is a hedge against the commandment that says "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me." So, for the churches to circumvent this commandment they had to come up with the "trinity concept;" thus by making it "OK" to worship Jesus as if he were a god. This is but one of the more obvious "changes" and "interpretations" the Church has made to have religion "their way."

My understanding and education is that there is a trinity in Christianity, Lord, Jesus and Holy Spirit and that they all one in the same, at the core.
