Yeah some youth gangs who copy what the bloods and crips do esp south Auckland

I'm not from New Zealand, but I'm interested to hear what kinds of culture your kids are adopting from our media.

My aunt has the same complaint about her kids, who live in Australia.

- Stuff like Halloween for one. We have absolutely no connection with this holiday, and most do not even understand it's meaning, but every year more and more children are out and about trick or treating. Frighteningly, many kids go out and do it without their parents, and our society just isn't familiar enough with it for it to be in any way safe. Groups of kids, or even just pairs, wandering around large neighbourhoods, knocking on strangers doors, when most there are no other people around to monitor what is happening? That's a scary Halloween story in the making!
  
  Gang stuff is a big problem too. We have long had gangs in NZ - they are a serious problem. But the gangs we have were pretty exclusive to adults or at least older teens. Now we have young kids running around doing violent crimes, claiming they are "Crips" or "Bloods", or "West Side Mother F-er!"
