  • Depends on what you mean by "inspection sticker." Is this a car just coming into a new state? Is this for a military base or job? Where were you and what do they want you to do?
  • Assuming you mean the annual safety inspection that most states require the immediate questions are: have you moved from another state, how old and what kind of condition is your car in and when did you last get it serviced and/or inspected? If you haven't been taking care of your car then welcome to the real world.
  • Happened to me too, and I knew it was coming. It was an emissions thing. But, if you think they're scamming you, show one of your mechanically inclined friends and see what they say.
  • Of the 50 states only 18 require safety inspections---most if not all of these 18 states are located on the east coast. Another 14 states or so only require testing for the federal emission standards--so a majority of states really do NOT require a typical car inspection as we east coast suckers have come to know it. I think Im moving to a state where the govt will for the most part just leave me alone--any ideas?
  • Take it to another shop. For purposes of an inspection there are only some basic things that need to be in working order and those have nothing to do with breaks or engine but silly things like break lights, horn and, of course, emissions
  • Pretty much
