his story "do androids dream of electric sheep?" was the basis of the film "blade runner", one of my favorite films of all time. philip k. dick also wrote "a scanner darkly", which was the basis of the animated richard linklater film. linklater also borrows from "time out of joint" for a portion of his incredibly brilliant animated film, "waking life". the entertaining schwarzeneggar "total recall" film was based on the short story "we can remember it for you wholesale". the ben affleck "paycheck" flick and steven spielbergs adaptation of "the minority report" also were loosely based on philip k. dick stories.
