  • Yes I have tried reiki and found it helpful but like most things sometimes things work for you and others they do not. I am always willing to try any alternative medicine.
  • I've tried it. It was one night when I was working a very quiet night shift in a rest-home. The other carer I was working with was telling me about it, and how she was really in to it. I didn't really believe it either, but I am always interested in learning about new things, and why people do them, etc. She told me about all the chakra stuff. It sounded to me like a way of focusing the mind on to the body for meditation, much like any other - and that has identifiable benefits no matter how you do it. I let her preform reiki on me, and I tried my best to keep an open mind. I did feel something when she did it, but this could have been just me being very tired. I think if you strip away all the mystical magical stuff, alot of these eastern treatments are really just great ways of meditating and focusing the mind. I think they can be very healing, but you don't have to necessarily believe all the spiritual stuff for them to work. My opinion anyway.
  • Yes, I've tried Reiki. It's simply a type of energy work. I prefer something that my husband does instead though, over Reiki. It's called Jim Shin. It's really wonderful. My husband is a massage therapist and teacher and knows all sorts of modalities.
