Yes she and her brood have the right to co-exist on this planet too. She shouldn't have to risk her life and her brood because we choose a different life than she has. Nor should we be so arrogant to think that our existence which greatly impinges on hers should take precendence. So we have to wait a few minutes, big deal, we should be able to survive that without problem.

Of course. Why shouldn't they? To disregard their crossing and continue on through, possibly killing them, would be needlessly cruel.

Yes. Squashing ducks is not nice. Especially if they were there first.

I'm afraid I WOULD and hope that no one gets rear ended in the process. I know stopping suddenly for an animal can cause an accident (knock wood, has not happened yet to me) but I can't help but try my best to stop if something living is in front of my vehicle.

I did hit a Canada goose once when it dashed into the front of my car. I tried to stop, the kind lady behind me also pulled over, I was bawling, the bird had a broken wing. She said she saw the whole thing and that there was no way I could have avoided that bird, but I still felt horrible. I tried to catch it up, but couldn't. Believe me, I have no clue as to what I would have done, had I caught it. (Killing it quickly would have been the right thing to do...but could I have?...ha I doubt it.) The bird went to a big house (school) that had a fair sized pond and a lot of geese living there...I can only hope for the best.

good, honest answer. what if you had to make a choice, if a vehicle is riding your bumper? hit the brakes or hit the ducks? tough question/answer.

I think my physical reflex would be to hit the brakes...and maybe swerve. I had to take a pretty intense driving course with SDPD...driving both forwards and backwards, lol...water, cones, hydroplaning so we'd know what to do. Heck here in PA..I just pray I don't hit a freaking deer...they really trash your vehicle. My Bro-in-law got nailed by a doe a couple of weeks ago,..she was fine, kicked his truck, tore up the front bumper, then trotted calmly away. They are just finishing the rut now, and are even more brainless than usual.

If they can do so safely, with enough warning to the cars behind them so they won't all get slammed into, yes.

Yes they should. It's not right to risk hurting any animal crossing the road.

If it is safe to stop, without causing any damage, then of course stop.
