I always stop for animals if it is safe to do so.

Yes she and her brood have the right to co-exist on this planet too. She shouldn't have to risk her life and her brood because we choose a different life than she has. Nor should we be so arrogant to think that our existence which greatly impinges on hers should take precendence. So we have to wait a few minutes, big deal, we should be able to survive that without problem.

Of course. Why shouldn't they? To disregard their crossing and continue on through, possibly killing them, would be needlessly cruel.

Yes. Squashing ducks is not nice. Especially if they were there first.

I'm afraid I WOULD and hope that no one gets rear ended in the process. I know stopping suddenly for an animal can cause an accident (knock wood, has not happened yet to me) but I can't help but try my best to stop if something living is in front of my vehicle.

I did hit a Canada goose once when it dashed into the front of my car. I tried to stop, the kind lady behind me also pulled over, I was bawling, the bird had a broken wing. She said she saw the whole thing and that there was no way I could have avoided that bird, but I still felt horrible. I tried to catch it up, but couldn't. Believe me, I have no clue as to what I would have done, had I caught it. (Killing it quickly would have been the right thing to do...but could I have?...ha I doubt it.) The bird went to a big house (school) that had a fair sized pond and a lot of geese living there...I can only hope for the best.

If it is safe to stop, without causing any damage, then of course stop.

If they can do so safely, with enough warning to the cars behind them so they won't all get slammed into, yes.

Yes they should. It's not right to risk hurting any animal crossing the road.

I say what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Let us not forget all those poor orphan goslings. It would be sad because they would have to pass them selves off as ugly ducklings then.

Of course. I do. I live in FL & there are a lot of cranes that cross the road. I stop & try to block the other lane so they can cross safely.

If they cross in front of me the outcome might not be good and here's why.... Dave the Magnificent is moseying down the road doing the speed limit, minding his own business and out of nowhere comes this line of ducks. There's a tractor trailor behind me and oncoming traffic in the other lane. The life of any animal is precious but the safety of a human far outweighs the ducks. On the other hand, if it was safe to do so, of course I would stop. People first. If I choose to risk my own safety to save an animal then it's my choice to do so but I'd never risk the safety of another person over it.

Yes. I stop for everything but birds smart enough to fly away.
