I would say sad rather than bad. That isn't to say that some drug addicts may also be bad.

I would hope not, I'm an alcoholic/addict who has been sober for a while and I'm not a bad person. (I know this now)They tend to lose themselves and are incapabable of feeling emotions so people who may not understand the illness tend to take a harsh view on people like myself. I did do alot of shady things to get my way and I did take advantage of many people, but I got sober and made amends where I could, except when to do so would injure them or others. ;-)

No, I don't think they are bad people. I just think they are in pain. That pain may cause them to do bad things.

You can't, I'm sorry to say. When an addict is out doing his thing, thats just it, its HIS thing. Nobody else matters to him, and sadly not even those children. He will have to hit his bottom before anything can change in his life. Just take care of those kids, make them feel loved and do the next right thing, take care of yourself.
