Arther Hailey. A very good novel giving an in depth account of how a hotel is run. The character I liked best was that of the Millionaire who lives like a good old westerner in a camp within the compound of his magnificent villa. He finally purchases the hotel and gives the hero the job of managing the hotel whatever way he wants. The most interesting scene is when the hotel checks with the bank whether the cheque of the millionaire would be cashed or not - not knowing his real identity. The bank just says yes not revealing his identity. A very fine memorable novel. I forget the names of the characters though.
