  • I think that marijuana should be legalized, especially for medical use. A comedian once compared some high on legal drugs (beer) to one high on pot. The drunk gets into fights, annoys others, gets aggressive or depressed, and destroys cities when drunks mass together. The guy high on pot just wants to sit and snack. Now which drug is more dangerous? :)
  • I think all drugs should be legalized. Why should the government be allowed to dictate to me which drugs I can and can't have? They positively advocate the use of alcohol and cigarettes, which kill far more people and cause many more problems than illicit drugs do.
  • I'm all for legalizing certain drugs, such a marijuana. I'm also for decriminalizing small amounts of most drugs. I think it would reduce the number of people in our prisons who are sent there for petty drug offenses and end up becoming lifetime criminals because of the environment they are exposed to in prison. The argument could be made that taking some drugs causes you to lose your sense of reality and put others in jeopardy, but that could also be said of alcohol. I believe you should be held accountable for your actions when you take a drug, and you should be punished if you harm someone when you are high, but the law shouldn't be preemptive and make something illegal because of what it COULD do. I am not sure that I believe all drugs should be completely deregulated, though. Still, I think if we spent all of the money we waste of the drug war and invested it on educating people on drugs that most people would be smart enough to decide if they wanted to use them or not. Save the fines and prison terms for those who abuse drugs to a point where they break actual laws.
  • ALL drugs should be legal. Meth, coke, heroine should be processed by reglated labs to where the byproduct and the product itself is kept clean and "safe". Pot should be grown on farms, so to the poppies - Raised and cared for and part of the economy. Sales of drugs should be through pharmacists who have on record every other drug you take and can warn of drug interactions. Legalize all drugs and suddenly the criminal no longer control the market. A little drug tax and you have the funds for Rehab, Detox and programs of recovery. Legalize the drugs and you can watch those on drugs so when their addictions finally spiral out of control they can easily be saved from themselves and offered help without the fear of legal reprisal (which unfortunately many drug users are terrified to get help thinking they will be arrested to the addictions go on). There is a clear winner and loser in the War on Drugs. In case you are wonder, we lost - drugs won.
  • Judging by the availability of these drugs to society you would think they're already legal. Legal or not legal, they will continue to destroy families and lives unless a focused effort is made to change the situation.
  • I think legalizing drugs would strangely alleviate some of the problems in our society. The prisons would be less crowded, law enforcement could focus on other issues, the drugs could be controlled and taxed to legally make a profit. I think people sometimes forget that a lot of prescription pills are just as detrimental as street drugs. Drugs are going to be prevalent in society no matter what, though
  • Yes, because alchohol and tobacco are legal both have proven and definate damaginge side effects... I also think that that way they can be controlled more easily... Having them illegal does more harm than good as it adds risk to selling thus they need to make more money for it to be worthwhile and so spike drugs with other things, famously heroin mixed with other powders like brick dust etc... Among other reasons...
  • it would save 95% of Americans from possibly going to jail. so yes. hell yes. Which would kills u first: weed or cigarettes?
  • Yes, to take the trade out of organised crime. Drugs can be taxed like cigarrettes and booze, imagine the revenue! It is a win-win situation, organised criminals denied access to easy money, drug users spared coercive and unscrupulous sellers and dealers, tax benefits for ALL. Legalise all drugs now.
  • No they should be abolished, blown up, vaporized whatevs.
  • the only illegal drug that i think should be legal is marijuana... the other stuff like meth, x, coke, heroine and all that other crazy shit seriously messes you up and should stay illegal forever. As far as im concerned if we could get rid of that stuff forever the world would be a better place. But if we had legal pot, alcohol, cigarettes(cigarettes are horrible for you too but..) and hookah then everything would be perfect;)
  • Pot could become legal!!! I would welcome that!!! any other drug NO!!!!
  • yeah i think they should except for heroin and meth
  • Some of the drugs are legal and they are produced in a few countries like India, etc!But making illegal drugs legal would really spell trouble!
  • Yes. But you could only get them under perscription. That way drugs would still be ileagaly dealt but it would happen less.
  • i think anything that is considered a drug that you would not take for health reasons or is not some sort of medication should ever be leagal
  • Yes. I wouldn't start doing heroin if it were made legal.
  • no, they are illegal for a reason (except pot.. that can be legal)
