yes we should. but will it pass in congress? highly unlikely. they tried to pass an equal rights ammendment for women and failed to pass it. but idk. maybe in the next 4 years things will change for good. Obama may appoint a couple of Supreme Court Judges and thats when major cases will pass in liberal favor, hopefully.

There are laws that prohibit discrimination on only a very few ethnicities ("races"). It is a fallacy to state that race is no longer legal to be discriminated against. That being said I think that there should be no discrimination, positive or negative, no hiring quotas... no bias. I would like the law to make this possible but know it is never going to happen. While I think it should be done, I know that it is never going to happen. I do not think that anything should be included in the decision to hire someone, give grants for school, or anything else other than qualifications of the applicants... period. Ok, I think I need to go lay down. I must have accidentally done some drugs to come up with that pipe dream.

actually, the 14th amendment says the follow: in section one All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. so equal protection is against discrimination
