  • Actually I beieve each cell is a copy of it's former self. Pretty much what causes aging as each time a copy is made of anything the quality is degraded untill they can't replicate either the quality or quanity to maintain life - sorry.
  • When a cell divides, it must make a copy of its genetic blueprint, its DNA, divide them equally, and then split in half to form 2 daughter cells. The basic steps of mitosis ensure that each daughter cell receives a complete set of chromosomes. When this process do not replicate well, the mitosis process- cell division process would be affected. The divided cells, would not have the correct DNA.
