I would suggest another option for tobacco.

the whole point of individuality is that we are individuals with our own beliefs and rights so no, i am a smoker but have also been a non smoker for a few years
-
i would. and i smoke.
-
I am all for it

Yes, I would love to see tobacco banned completly. Our government (england) is so quick to tell us how bad smoking is and how we should stop. But will never actually do the best thing about it, because they get such high taxes from it.

Oh yes, definitely. I hate when you log on to AB and you can smell someone else's Benson and Hedges. To be honest, I can quite often tell which patients are smokers on the wards without asking them/looking at their SH. So I am all for it.
-
Yes. It only ruins lives.

I am definately all for it!! And if that is not a plan that the government wants to follow soon, then I think that the taxes on all tobacco products should jump at least 20% - 30% a year, to force people to quit. I only think the taxes should go up if the government proposes a plan to phase out all tobacco by raising the taxes for "x" amount of years, then banning it completely.

I do not smoke, and I don't have a problem with people who do, as long as they are courteous about it and stay away from me while they are doing it. I find it ironic that tobacco companies get sued and have to pay out billions of dollars, governments tax cigarrettes with "sin" taxes, governments puts warning labels all over packs saying it will kill you...yet the product is still legal. (Not only legal, but tobacco farmers are subsidized by the federal government.) I guess I'm not for a total ban, but if we are going to do everything BUT ban it, let's just cut to the chase and put it in the same category as marijuana. Otherwise, let smokers smoke. It's their choice. They know the risks.

I don't, I think grow ups are very well aware of the effects and possible outcomes of the tobacco use and we are able to decide what to do about it. I'm in favor of banning the use of tobacco in public places.

think about it though if we ban tobacco we not only destroy one of the biggest industries in the world causing thousands to lose their jobs but also it would just become the new cocaine/weed because now people would just smuggle it in because smokers will pay a ton of money to get their hands on it also the government would lose tons of revenue from the taxes lost. but if their were no negative side effects to banning it i would
