I've used it as lubrication or consolation during cooking.

When it comes to putting alcohol in food, I am more likely to use wine.

Sure...the first time was when I threw a party and a lot of stale beer left over in the keg the next day...I tried 'rarebit' a cheese and beer sauce over bread. Then in soups, gravies, as a braising or marinade sauce, in bread, and I compost any left in bottles left by others...makes the compost happy!

We always cook our thin steak for tacos with beer. We buy the eye round and have it sliced thin. To prepare the steak we layer the slices in a baking dish sprinkling each slice with lime juice and salt. Let that sit while the grill or fying pan is heating up (we prefer the grill, about 5 minutes before cooking pour a beer over the steak. We use Modelo or Corona. This is absolutely delicious!

Yes, when I have a large roast, I seere it in vegetable oil, then pour a beer in after it's all browned so taht it can tenderize in the beer. Than I keep adding water to it as it evaporates. Makes it fall apart!!!!!

Yes the most tender potroast I ever made had nothing more to it than a can of beer, a can of tomatoes, and a few hours of simmering on low in the crockpot. (I was in a hurry for something when I threw it together) Man it was delicious and I don't even like potroast..or beer really! I'd rather have chinese food and a margarita.
