Given that ad blocking is increasingly commonplace (e.g. Firefox's various ad- and script-blocking add-ons, similar tools for Internet Explorer and other browsers), what methods are advertisers using to get around these obstacles?

    Flash ads and other annoying ads that move across your screen are one way. I have the Ad-blocking tool on Firefox but I still see these.

    Text ads are becoming more commonplace now. I think it is the best method because you can show ads that users actually might click on rather than bombarding them with visual noise.

    The most used choice is to simply pay for ad space on popular web sites that cater to their target audience. In this way, no matter what the browser or operating system is, the ad is seen on the web page once a user navigates to it.
