Help answer this question below.

Our semi's fuel tanks smell like a laquer thinner not like deisel fuel and we are plugging the filters with a black coating ,what gives thanks

    If the filters are clogging with a black material,it is most likely an algae deposit. Check with Detroit Diesel, they have test kit and biocide to remove algae from diesel fuel. you may also check this:
