welllll I absolutely hate sports, don't watch them....I like beer sometimes but I would prefer vodka or sake...and instead of turkey I would much rather have some sushi or a steak...So my thanksgivings with my gf are usually very untraditional.....and I even do most of the cooking and help clean up too! maybe u need to be around less cliche men..we aren't all knuckledraggers

Come on, why is that only for men. I am a woman and that's all I do on Thanksgiving. Can't women have fun too.

Well, maybe all the guys you know do that stuff, but this guy AND A WHOLE LOT of other guys I know don't do any of that stuff. I can't tell you the last time I drank a lot of beer and watched a lot of football. MAYBE you're with the wrong bunch of guys!? BELIEVE ME: There are PLENTY of good, available guys out here! They're in the professional organizations, which the industry you might be working in, are affiliated with. Ask about those groups at work. Those guys could be in your very own church, temple or mosque. If you feel as though they aren't at your particular House of Worship, attend masses, services and functions at other facilities. Find a worthy charity or cause and on a regular, dependable basis do volunteer work. It's a wonderful way to meet terrific folks - "the powers that be", "the movers and shakers". If you have a particular interest or hobby, find a club or group in your area, join it, attend meetings AND MOST OF ALL BE ACTIVE! Get on committees. Voice your ideas and opinions. Well, I am a girl and I LOVE football. I know more about the game then most of the men I watch it with. My bf doesn't like football and he doesn't drink that much beer either. So I wouldn't say, ALL guys drink beer and watch football, but the ones that do probably do it because they can get away with it. If you turn off the tv and tell them that if they're going to eat they're going to help cook and if they're going to help make the mess they're going to help clean it up and actually make them do it I bet they'll help.

I don't like generalisations such as this. I worked the past 7 Thanksgivings, 12 1/2 hour shift. And the last time I was off on Thanksgiving, I cooked and execised on my treadmill.
