  • First of all, one needs to determine if all religions are acceptable to God. Then, is the Bible the word of God? Once I found a convincing answer to the above questions (through study) I had to ask myself: Are all religions (claiming to represent the Bible) acceptable to God? Here are some Scriptures that helped me. Judg. 10:6, 7: “The sons of Israel again proceeded to do what was bad in the eyes of Yahweh, and they began to serve the Baals and the Ashtoreth images and the gods of Syria and the gods of Sidon and the gods of Moab and the gods of the sons of Ammon and the gods of the Philistines. So they left Jehovah and did not serve him. At this Yahewh’s anger blazed against Israel.” (If a person worships any thing or any person other than the true God, the Creator of heaven and earth, it is evident that his form of worship is not acceptable to Yahweh (Jehovah.) Mark 7:6, 7: “He [Jesus] said to them [the Jewish Pharisees and scribes]: ‘Isaiah aptly prophesied about you hypocrites, as it is written, “This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from me. It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach as doctrines commands of men.”’” (Regardless of whom a group profess to worship, if they hold to doctrines of men instead of the inspired Word of God, their worship is in vain.) Rom. 10:2, 3: “I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God; but not according to accurate knowledge; for, because of not knowing the righteousness of God but seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.” (People may have God’s written Word but lack accurate knowledge of what it contains, because they have not been taught properly. They may feel that they are zealous for God, but they may not be doing what he requires. Their worship is not going to please God, is it?) VEW
  • Is it true that there is good in all religions? Most religions do teach that a person should not lie or steal, and so forth. But is that sufficient? Would you be happy to drink a glass of poisoned water because someone assured you that most of what you were getting was water? 2 Cor. 11:14, 15: “Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness.” (Here we are cautioned that not everything that originates with Satan may appear hideous. One of his chief methods of deceiving mankind has been false religion of all kinds, to some of which he gives a righteous appearance.) 2 Tim. 3:2, 5: “Men will be . . . having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.” (Regardless of their outward professions of love for God, if those with whom you worship do not sincerely apply his Word in their own lives, the Bible urges you to break off such association.) • Who the hell knows for sure but I believe all this didn't start by chance it's just to complex.
  • Because it feels right to me. This isn't an argument, just an answer.
  • Actually, I was brought up Christian. I left the church when I was 18 and never returned. Some of the doctrines make perfect sense to me, while others make my stomach turn. But if I came across another religion that fit me better, I would simply drag along the fragments of Christianity that I practice and meld them into the new religion. Isn't that really how people grow and better themselves anyway?
  • I am not educated enough in the bible to throw verses out since I have only been going to a Christian church for a few years. Even if I did know the book upside down and out, I wouldn't throw you any because that won't prove anything. I like this question because it constantly goes through my head. I tend to think I am choosing Christianity because I am comfortable with the idea. My family is full of people who are Athiests or Agnostics. I was looking for something more. I know that Christianity just gives more questions after an answer is found, but it reaches out to me. I grew up not directly under its guidance, but it still was there. The other religions seem alien to me and I don't feel like I belong to any of their ideas. I guess if the other religions weren't so different to my ideas and even personality i would feel more connected with them. That's why I don't judge people on their religions. There are many paths to the Creator and who is honestly able to say theirs is right, when all you have is a feeling, or faith? Kudos to anyone with their beliefs and love is love in my opinion, no matter the traditions around it. p.s. Sorry to other people who are strong Christians and view my concepts as immoral and unacceptable, but this is just the way I feel.
  • I favor Christianity over other religions because I believe in the reality—and absolute necessity, for that matter—of personal revelation. As the Apostle James so aptly taught, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). In short, once God has explicitly told a person what’s true, it becomes a little harder for that person to think otherwise.
