What colors of lights are legal on vehicles in TN? Red? Blue? Green? White? Does it matter if they show to front, sides, or back? If the vehicle is in motion or stopped?

    The following lights are illegal to have installed on any motor vehicle in Tennessee, other than specifically designed emergency vehicles. emergency vehicles are police, ambulance, and fire engines.:

    Blue lights cannot be visible from the front of any motor vehicle, except those described above.

    Red lights cannot be visible from the front of any motor vehicle, except those described above.

    Motion or stopped makes no difference.

    White, yellow, purple, green are not included as illegal lights on a motor vehicle in Tennessee.
