How do I get the IRS to release my wage garnishment and start myself on a payment plan. (I defaulted on the last one). How do I do this without paying a company to do it for me?

You are wanting alot for nothing. Alot of this trouble it sounds like you created yourself. You need to get an attorney to help you if pleading with the IRS (who probably won't look at it too favorably in light of your default) is of no possible help. File a bankruptcy perhaps. Without knowing your specific financial situation we cannot intelligently answer this.

You want goo help, you usually have to pay for it somehow. I suggest a tax attorney or regular attorney if you really want professional help instead of digging yourself in deeper. And the IRS never forgets anything...

    Good luck.

Update: I called customer service at the IRS and asked what my options were after explaining that the amount of the garnishments were going to put me under.
I was told I could set up an automatic payroll deduction for much less, and I decided to go with that. There were a couple of other options, all of which required a fee of about $50 to $100. The fee for my set up was like $52 I believe.
That ended up being much less than the approx $600 being charged by the companies and attorneys who would just negotiate the same thing for you.
It usually pays to try things yourself first. :)
