My car battery discharges when not in use? I have to disconnect the battery every time I stop. When in use, it is fine (recharging). This 1st happened 3 weeks ago - I have bought a new battery - but the same thing still happens. Help? Any ideas?

Ok, I don't even know where the battery goes and logic is telling me that if you have a new battery and the problem persists, it must be either the wiring or something wrong with the electrical system. How about you get the car to a shop and let them determine which one?

Is your trunk or underhood light on when the hood or trunk is closed??? I had this happen during the winter and froze a battery.

Perhaps you need new wires,or simply need to disconnect, and take a wire brush to them, and re tighten. It could also be that your in need of a new solenoid,or the wires need cleaned, and tightened, the foregoing applies to your alternator as well.If the wires are good cleaned ,and tightened, and thats not your problem then perhaps your experiencing some other type of electrical problem regarding,an axillary component that has a problem with its automatic switch, such as an electric fan,or air suspension. Instead of disconnecting the battery you could locate the fuse on the circuit panel, and super glue a handle too it for easier removal, that is also assurance of keeping your car more secure from theft. With all this in mind I recommend that you mount a spare key in a conspicuous place in case you lock your keys in the car.Yeah your wires could be all burned out Id recommend opening your hood in a dark area with the engine running and look for electrical sparks or surges.
