The cause may be lacking the enzyme needed to digest alcohol, many Japanese people have this inherited problem. I am half Japanese.
What happens is all my blood vessels dilate causing me to turn beet red over my entire body, my pulse rate goes up to as high as 150 bpm, which causes a sudden drop in my blood pressure. I then pass out cold. It has happened to me drinking as little as 1/2 glass of beer, small amount of Purple Passion, and less than a 1/4 of a Strawberry Daiquiri.
My Mom is full Japanese and has this problem, my brother, myself, and both of my adult children have inherited the same lack of the enzyme.
Drinking alcohol is just not worth trying to fit in at any social gathering. I advised both of my adult children to order a coke, sprite, etc., and request a slice of lemon, lime, pineapple, or anything which would make it appear to have alcohol in the beverage. Or order virgin Daiquiris.
Best of wishes,

If you blackout when drinking adult beverages, your long-term memory is impaired. Blackouts are often described as being somewhat similar to amnesia.
Blacking out must not be confused with the act of passing out from over-indulgence. Black outs, however, are predictors of alcoholism.

Alcoholism.
Drinking too fast can cause a blackout. Bad for the brain. Helps if you put some food in your belly before the booze.
