    Dress appropriately.

    Be polite.
Be on time (5-10 minutes early is good).
When the interview is over, regardless of what they say, thank them for their time and/or the opportunity to talk to them about the position.

At the end if they ask you if you have any questions, have one (or a couple) to ask. Make it job related, like job tasks, responsibilities, etc. Maybe whether there is room for promotion in the future based on job performance... whatever, but imply that you're interested, and that you may stay with the company.

If they ask how long you see yourself with the company, don't say something about leaving soon unless you are being hired for temporary or seasonal employment, or they already knew about the time limit. Employers rarely want to go through the trouble of training someone if they aren't going to be around very long. Training takes time and money.

Do be yourself. But don't make inappropriate jokes, or swear.

Try to stay relaxed, but don't slump in your seat. Sit up, and look attentive.

Remember that you are trying to find out if the job is right for you just as much as they are trying to find out if you are right for the job.

Just be yourself, no matter how much you want the job, you don't want it under false pretences.

    I have run HR departments.

If you have done your homework and have decided this is the place you want to be, dress like you already work there, go in with confidence that you can do the job, have an idea of what they are looking for and be able to tell the interviewer how you are able to fill their needs. Do not give one word answers and do not give long winded answers either. Smile(dont freeze the smile though) and look at the interviewer in the eyes. sit up straight ant DONT USE SLANG and speak english, not half english sentences. IF hired you will represent this company. Have your references available on a separate sheet and only give them to the interviewer when they ask for them. One page resume too, please.
And if you get there and you really like what you see, while you wait, picture yourself already working there, like you got the job. Then when you are called in, let that image go. The power of positive thinking.

    GOOD LUCK ! :)

Take big deep breaths before you go in, if you're nervous, and just keep thinking positive and everything will go good.

Be yourself. Maintain good eye contact without staring. Clean, appropriate attire with good grooming and hygiene. Reflect on your strengths. When asked, present your weaknesses in terms of 1) the most favorable light possible 2) how you have improved in that area and continue to do so.

Relax. Take a couple of deep breaths. And focus your discussion on how you can contribute vs solely what the job will, can or should do for you. Best wishes!

Dont panic. Just relax. Greet your interviewers politely and answer their questions confidently. Dont fumble. If you are not sure about something, tell them. They would like an honest reply rather than an ignorant oversmart one. In the end, hope for the best. Smile and always be positive.

Make sure you shake their hand firmly and look them in the eye. Thank them for the interview. Avoid backtalking your ex-employers. Be honest and smile. Wear a suit. Try not to wear red - it's a power color and tends to turn off interviewers. Wear blue or green instead! :) Call them sir or ma'am. Be POLITE! And above all - be cool, calm, collected and confident!

A good handshake, try to research the company so you can fill awkward gaps in conversation, and make a fair amount of eye contact. Act like you want the job more than you need it.

Yes, I agree with many others. Be yourself. If they don't like you as yourself, you probably won't be happy on the job and won't want it anyway.

    Bring coppies of your resume'.
Bring references on a separate paper, and only give them if asked for them.
Follow up with a letter you can find examples of on Monster.com. They have good resume templates too.
And lots of jobs. I found lots of jobs at MSN.com near the top of the home page under 'carreers & jobs' and was surprised at how thourough, and local they are, and well catagorized.

Ask your doctor for some xanax for your nerves if you can't control them. Works like magic. I've done it.

Relax, think about your answers! (i see so many people who dont!!) make sure you are open with your body language (they do look) and dont be afraid to challenge a view they might put across (but have a solution it may be a test) and most of all do homework about the company and have a couple of good questions lined up for them.

Be yourself. You can't fake your way through so it's better to be honest. Good employers appreciate that.
