Yes. Something off the usual routes is the Church of the Immaculate Conception on the campus of National Catholic University. This has to be one of the most beautiful buildings on earth--it takes two hours just to look at all the beautiful things, and I hope to see it again sometime. (I'm not Catholic, either.)

I first visited in 1990, came back for school in 1994, and have stayed since. Yes, it is a very beautiful city. Cherry blossom time is just fantastic!
