There is one middle eastern country (I can't remember which), where the penalty for drunk driving is life imprisonment, and your spouse goes with you! I know for sure I would make someones life a living hell if I had to go to jail forever because of their drinking.
Whatever the laws are in your state, you didn't say which, as long as they aren't executing people, of giving them life, the laws are probably fair because drunk drivers have been known to kill.
