Yes. Giving NINJA's--people with no income, no job or assets--subprime mortgages is just as compassionate and helpful as handing an unemployed wino the keys to a liquor store so he can earn himself a living. It will really do him no good, and when he gets into his car after work he's likely to wipe out somebody else's. Actually that's a simile, not a metaphor, so I won't feel bad if you downrate it.
