Can i get through airport security with an engagement ring in my hand luggage or do i need to put it in my suitcase?

People get thru the detectors with jewelry on so I don't see why it would be an issue to place it in your hand luggage where they'll X-ray and see clearly what it is. I do not recommend putting anything of value in a suitcase that will be placed in the belly of the plane. Our valiant heroes from Homeland Security reserve the right (and trust me they use it!) to break the lock in the suitcase and ramsack thru it. If they find something in there that they like and put it in their pockets by accident, the law protects them as they're not legally responsible for anything lost or damaged in the process

Of course you can put it in your hand luggage. Unless it's a concealed weapon, which I'm assuming its not.

Um, of course you can put it in your hand luggage. People wear jewelry all the time on planes, so long as your ring doesn't have a built in knife or something, it's fine.

Is it metal, and wont it turn her finger green, i think it should be fine anywear , put it in your carry on. so it wil be close to you.

I never take either of my rings off during check-in and one them is a big class ring, so you shouldn't have a problem.

Dont put it in your checked or carry on luggage. Wear it if you don't want to lose it. You can go through security wearing it....most of all do not place the jewelry in the bins at the checkpoint...nightmare waiting to happen. Good luck.

With all this security BS and evisceration of the Fourth Amendment, I wonder that people are willing to fly anymore.

My engagement/wedding rings never set the system off so you can probably put it in your carry-on.

Don't put it in your suitcase, you might never see it again!
