  • That is amazing. I will pray from him and all his works. Thank you for opening my eyes on how others live.
  • Wow. I pray for your sons safety as well as all those in harms way. Good Luck Freedom Theater! Just realized I did not answer the question! Freedom is living the way you want doing the things you believe in and not being persecuted for being different.
  • That is absolutely phenomenal! I will keep him in my prayers, he has reached such a wonderful goal that so few may have achieved. Give him my best wishes. :)
  • Oh wow...This is a beautiful thing! I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers! Thank you Ricky for letting me know.
  • I believe this can be a life changing experience for your son. I wish him well. Freedom is another thing we take for granted too often. We should not just be thankful during Thanksgiving, but all year long.
  • Congratulations on your son's accomplishment(s)!!!! Freedom to me is acceptance of life by actually living the golden rule (sounds corny -but that's what it is to me:)
  • Freedom to me is the natural right to live and enjoy the prosperous things that come with life.
  • his living at the theatre will be a wonderful opportunity to offer his services and time towards the freedom of those that have been persecuted for so long, such a shame that religon causes such hurt , pain and suffering, there has to be somthing wrong with the human concept of religon............... enjoy your day Rickster.
  • Autonomy and sovereignty
  • I often wonder just how much freedom we actually have, and who exactly is responsible for determining the barriers. Whatever the answer is, it's hard to keep complaining after you see that. It's a good idea, and you have to appreciate the hope in these people. All we do over here is whine and complain about everything, they seem to have a much more erect fortitude and appreciation of life than we do, even if it's brought on by necessity. I got really shocked when I saw all those children eating popsicles and then learn that the residents are all kept within the town by an electric fence. :/ To me freedom is living as you are, saying and doing what you want, and although we could question laws and the justice system, people do need to be kept in check and all...so I think over here we have plenty of freedom, compared to other places. We don't get killed for the religion or spiritual path we decide on, even though gays have a hard time, they can still be gay, we're not chastised on the entertainment we choose to have, we can go in and out of the country as we will, and while money is always an issue, the medical system has no discrimination towards anyone. My dad used to show me all these articles in his magazines, and in some places, it's goddamn horrible. Especially in places like Palestine, Rwanda and so forth. I sincerely hope your son is fine over there, because I've also read on what the military can do to unwanted reporters and all from abroad. :/ So while freedom's definition is underlined by so many different factors, a lot of them which are fueled by philosophy and perception and so makes it that I might not always know what it is, if I can complain about it, I must have enough of it. I can badmouth the government and the police force for example, they can't do nothing. It kinda makes me laugh then, sometimes, how much people complain around here, all the woes to which they attribute themselves to and claim depression and suicide because of hissy fits when things don't go the way they want. And that's freedom too, right? Anyways, whatever it might mean to me, it isn't present over there, and I find it hard to believe that this theatre is even allowed to exist. It's a good sign though.
  • Congratulations, you've raised him well
  • thank you for sharing this with me I am sharing in your feeling of pride for him. tell him he is doing a great thing to be so young and that I wish him luck!!
  • Rick, what a wonderful thing he is doing to go there and study. To advance peace in Palestine through the Arts is a great idea and such a noble cause. You must be very proud of your son. It seems like he has learned much from you. What an opportunity for him also! :)
  • I can only speak to personal freedom. To me, it means as long as I don't hurt anyone else with my actions, I can be me.
  • Wow, that was an amazing video Rickie, thanks for telling me about it! It's sad how others will persecute others and keep them from their hobbies because they don't like it. I wish your son the best of luck, may the Lord be with him. . What freedom means to me is having the right to do as you wish as long as it isn't harmfull to others.
  • Freedom to me means everyone accepting others regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation, culture, age, looks, etc. Freedom means everyone has the same rights to live, work and marry that everyone else has...a few of those equal rights I'm still waiting to enjoy. I wish your son well, Rick!
  • Wow, that is awesome! He'll be in my thoughts and prayers!
  • Congratulations, Rickster!!! For me, freedom means going in the direction of your dreams with no fear or inhibition. Freedom means having the space and the capacity to follow your heart. Sometimes, people try to control and get in the way of that -- and that stomps out spirit. Awesome of you to let your son have the capacity to create a life for himself that could feel infinite and truly his own.
  • thank you for sharing that inspiring video rickster~ that should be an incredible experience for your son! i wish him all the best... freedom means everything to me. it is the lifeblood of the human spirit. i have spent a good deal of my adult life crusading for freedom for those that have been denied those basic human rights by others... i believe freedom represents equality for all. freedom is our soul taking flight ~ it empowers us to turn dreams into reality by removing the obstacles which weigh down the realization of our lofty dreams. most importantly, freedom is transcending our worldly desires and breaking the yoke of suffering which binds us in our quest for enlightenment ~ you are free if you believe yourself to be...
  • Congrats! He's lucky to have such a supportive father!
  • That is incredible Rick! What a great thing and I know you are praying for him and the others. Peace!
  • You must be very proud of him. We take so much for granted in this country. Freedom is not being bound by electric fences and locked gates. Freedom is being able to live your life without fear, making dreams come true.
  • Wow that is so awesome to see and to know that your 17 yr old is over there living and being a part of something so special. That was very touching to me while I was watching I was thinking about how much myself takes for granted. Just to have a home with a bed and food and family and clothes and heat and tv and love and FREEDOM. Freedom to me is everything that I am able to do of my own free will. Because I want to, not because I am made to, and not restricted from doing anything that I want. I will be praying for your son and all of the children and people involved with the theater and all of them in the world like them that need to experience freedom.
  • The freedom of choice !! If I was free to choice what I want , then I am free !! (I really wish your son the best)
  • Freedom to me means that everyone has the right to participate in threatre schools like this one, feel safe, good healthcare, clean water and food, and the ability to make our own choices. Until everyone has these things, none of us are truly free.
  • Freedom is to live without the fear of persecution for our human needs. (Not so much our desires)
  • How special for your son. What a learning experience for him, one he won't soon forget and maybe use it to benefit others...pass it on! Freedom to me, comes and goes from the heart. Free people can live in chains or oppression, but their hearts and minds can think and feel as they desire. If they can share that with others and open up physical freedoms, changing others hearts as well, then that freedom can spread to other hearts, too.
  • Congrats to your son. That is amazing. Sorry Rick that I didn't respond sooner. I also have to say Congrats to you for raising an amazing son. He will be in my daily prayers. Freedom is knowing who you are as a person and not regretting who you are.
  • Freedom to me is to be able to do as I please. Not to be dictated to or controlled. To be able to say what I please as long as what I say is not offensive to others.
  • Oh Gosh!! If my only purpose to be on The AB was to see that...I would like to Thank You!! Seeing all those children..who by the way remind me of my own..My Heart and Prayers go out to them. What we as people take so much for granted..the same person is fighting for. I would love to know how I could help, because taking childrens minds off of what is really happening..How Wonderful!! Giving them a outlet, Giving them some peace, and Giving them Hope..I will do anything to help..Please let me know..even if its just donating a camera..or anything. I don't have a lot of money..but I would love to donate:):) And of course my Prayers are with all of them:):) What does Freedom mean to me...I have never had to fight for it..it's just there. I am Lucky!!!
  • Freedom theater sounds wonderful! It's shocking there are 3000 children in the refugee camp?! It must be very exciting and rewarding for your son to be part of something so important in the children's lives. A bright light of hope for them. Congratulations to your son for reaching his goals, and to be a part of something that will make such a difference in other's lives at such a young age, he sounds like a very caring person, must be from his father:) Thank you so much for sharing this Rickster! Freedom to me means being able to worship without fear, being able to travel where I want without explanation, and now I should add seeing children outside playing without fear.
  • Wow! That is so awesome! I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. You have raised your son well :)
  • What an awesome program. Good luck to your son, what an awesome and brave person. I will sent my good thoughts to him. Freedom for sure. To me freedom is being able to make my own choices, with or without the guidance of others.
  • It means alot of men and woman lost thier lives, Freedom isn't free
  • This is really a brave and fantasic mission for your son and for you. He must have the calling to help these children and the people there. It takes extra ordinary courage and spiritual strength to be there. Challenging and yet I see the joy and the satisfaction. Yes prayers will move mountains-Freedom to me -is being able to explore and grow within oneself even with the toughest restriction nothing will be able to take that growth away from me or you. Thank you Rick..for sharing this meaningful part of your life. I've learnt true freedom. My thoughts and prayers for these will be often from today onwards.
  • the freedom to make mistakes, the freedom to learn from them, and the freedom to say 2+2=4.
