Q. A large truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it half way across the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse? Give a reason.

the gas burned getting from the scale to the bridge weighs more than the bird. Or the bridge goes down cause when fueled and under load the truck weighs a bunch more than just the truck by its self. B. where are the dynamic supports of the bridge in relation to the dead weight of the stopped truck? and the leverage of the static weight of the bridge to it's supports. The question lacks many parameters needed to give a definitive reply.

A bridge weight limit must be able to hold the weight if the entire road surface is covered by trucks that weigh 14000 lbs each.
