Do you think it's weird that a 13 year old girl always sits on her uncle's lap? Don't you think that's a little old to be doing that?

    Sorry Sirus, I don't agree. A girl at 13 has started puberty. Just reading this question made my Mom ears perk up and give me sick feeling in my stomach. Have to trust my insticts. Sorry. 13 years old is way too old and her uncle should know that.

    If you know someone in that position, or eventhough you are too young to be on AB, if this person is you, and things are happening to you that you know are not right, tell someone. Tell your mom. Tell your dad. Tell a teacher. Tell someone.

    I think it is a little old to be doing that but it also depends on what context it is in and the maturity level of the child.

    It depends on whether this particular 13 year old girl is precociously sexual or is still basically an innocent child. It's usually pretty obvious whether this is a "Lolita" situation or just the affection of a sweet child who is oblivious to any perceptions of sexuality in the situation.

    If it is just a family thing and there is nothing sexual, I don't see a problem. I am 26 and I sometimes crawl into bed with both my parents when I visit.

    There's something there, maybe not extreme , but there is SOMETHING whether it be expressed or deep in mental, otherwise this wouldn't be going on.

    That's fine. I would sit on the lap of a family friend at that age and there were no sexual connotations. Watch his interaction with her if you are concerned about it but otherwise it doesn't seem like much of an issue.

    When I was little, my uncle used to pick me up and lift me right up to the ceiling. But when I hit puberty he never touched me. I can remember him kissing me onthe cheek once when I was in my 20's. But that was all the contact which is the way it should be between a respectful uncle and his niece.

    for goodness sake, what's the problem with sitting. if there is something more going on, there may be an issue but my 82 yo mum still gives me (51) hugs when she sees me. I assure you there is nothing sexual about it.
