I love Morroco , especially Marakesh. I spend 3 days in one of the many botique riads-hotels in the Medina ( historical centre)They are in the city, which is frantic and crazy, but inside their walls is like quiet little paradise. Most of them are English or french owned. Amazing cuisine, landscapes, architecture . I bought 4 carpets and a painting from the markets for presents and for my self.
I always wanted to visit Tangier knowing that it was multicoltural artistic centre during the 50's-60's. It's interesting, but not something to take your breath away.I wasn't expecting bumping to Jack Kerouac or Matise, but hoped to be at least more hip city. I think they filmed part of " Inception" there.
I like Morroco as an escape destination. It's just 2hour flight from Europe and yet is another world.

Morocco is a wonderful country to visit. I've been there three times and can't wait until I can visit again. The Moroccan people are very nice and accepting of American tourists. There is so much to see and experience throughout the entire country. I would suggest you pick a place (Casablanca, Rabat, Tetouan, etc) and don't try to do too much on your first visit. You can get a great hotel at an inexpensive price and food is relatively cheap, too. I do suggest skipping the street vendors, though. While the people may be very clean, even the locals prefer not eating where so many flies have landed.
