To be able to communicate with more people.

So I can ask questions when I go to that foreign country (it's just respectful to try and learn it at least) and also because I can get better jobs by having a second language.

It helps in my everyday life, because I live in a country that has many different cultures and languages.

Its nice to be able to communicate without having to ask if they speak English.Once they know you have taken the time and trouble to learn their language they seem to be more friendly.
