Are these websites that tell you the default price of a foreclosed house legit? What is the "default price" and do you only have to pay that to get into the house? They give you a week free search but then charge $10 a week to keep looking.

    The majority of "foreclosure" websites are nothing more than lead generators. The data are often stale or bogus. From what you say, you found one. ;-)

    Such "default" prices are much the same as "opening bids" on auctions. They bear no relationship to anything realistic.

    If you are a serious investor, you would be much better serve working with a licensed Realtor that specializes in bank owned and foreclosed properties. A Realtor will help identify REAL deals at realistic prices, not vapor.
