What is your opinion on video-game based violence? DO you think video-games actually have an effect on people's behavior? If so, do they effect all ages groups equally?

my opinion on video-games based on violence is that THEY TOTALLY ROCK!!! Halo 2 and Gears of War is awesome. Yes, some behaviour may change in some people, but i am not one of them

It all depends on the parents. If the parents know how to teach their children about video game violence, it should have no real effect on them. Some games might give younger children a certain immunity to certain violences, which is my opinion.

Wow, I guess there's no point using google to find research papers from studies on this issue. We can always turn to Answerbag, where data collection is in no way scientific.

they do have an effect! i forget the source, but this one guy who is an expert in the situation said that videogames will not dramatically effect a person, unless they are already disturbed, or are riding that thin line!

I suspect that players of videogames do not transfer to their personal lives enough sense of violence to be a danger to society. I personally believe movie violence contributes far more to public violence than video games do. I base this on the assumption that there are different people who play videogames and people who act out violence on the streets.
