Are there any studies that show an increase in recent decades in the average size of fire trucks, or tractor trailers or city buses in the US?

    While I don't know about any studies, as a former Paramedic and a current truck driver, that fire trucks have actually gotten smaller and more aerodynamic. Semi's have stayed about the same size, but have gotten larger, more fuel efficient engines. The truck that I drive has a 500 hp diesel engine that gets about 6.7 mpg loaded. Now, all vehicles after 2007 are required to burn ultr low sulfur diesel fuel which makes them more pollution friendly.
