I'd want a big-o SUV - either a Hummer or a Range Rover. But I agree with someone else who posted an answer, who said their choice depends whether it would be totally free, including taxes, gas and maintenance, etc.
If not, then my next bests would be Suzuki XL-7, Toyota Land Cruiser, Nissan whatever it is and Honda Pilot.

I can't believe that nobody has yet mentioned the Bugatti Veyron. If by “own for free” you mean all the total cost of ownership, including fuel, maintenance, insurance, registration, etc., then this is definitely *THE* car to lust after.

If you mean you get the car for free, but you're on your own paying all the costs that go with owning it, then this car would probably eat you alive. Better, perhaps, to wish for something a bit more practical.
