Should I get a Mike Dirnt Precision Bass or a Fender Standard Precision and then replace the PUPS and bridge with Seymour Duncan and BadAss II?

    If you really want the Dirnt features, buy the Dirnt bass. You will save time and money. On the other hand, the Standard is a very nice bass.

    Skip all the equipment swapping and purchase a Gibson electric bass guitar. you will love the sound and its wonderful at recordings.
