I am a back yard beekeeper I just purchased my 3rd Hive.
Honey has several properties that help to kill bacteria. Honey has a high sugar content, which has an osmotic effect, drawing water from bacterial cells and dehydrating them. Honey produces small quantities of hydrogen peroxide, which kills many bacteria. It is also acidic, killing bacteria by denaturing their enzymes.
Do not give honey to children under 12 months of age.
For coughs especially at night one teaspoon of honey works wonders.
Try to get local raw honey from your area as most of the honey in the supermarkets are from china and are treated with antibiotics also are pasturized which removes the beneficial effects from the honey. Hope this helps a little

You're reading Does honey help a singing voice, or just a voice in general? I know it helps to get a hoarse voice back, but I saw a video of Brandon Flowers from The Killers once, and he said something about how he needed some honey. What does it do?
