I heard that drinking to much (any liquid- not booz) can be bad for your prostate and bladder because they can be over used. Is this true? How much water is too much? Can I drink as much as I want?

    it's possible to drink too much, but unlikely in practice. more people underhydrate than overhydrate. it's most common among endurance athletes and people in very dehydrating conditions, who are taking in a lot of water but not enough electrolytes to balance what they are sweating out. you need the right balance, and often in those situations, people will overhydrate without replacing the lost nutrients.

    When you are dealing with the human body anything can be too much, even healty stuff. For example you could really mess yourself up if your always gorged yourself on food even if it was fruit and vegetables. Everything in moderation.

    Back to the question. How much water is too much? That depends completely on your level of activity. If you are doind things during the day that cause you to sweat a lot then the water will pass through you sweat glands and will never pass through your prostrate or bladder. If you have ever been outside on a really hot day and you drank a ton of water and never peed...that's why. So if you sweat a lot during the day drink however much you want. If you are peeing ever five minutes becuase you are constantly drinking water, that is a symptom for several disorders including diabetes.

    Here's the hard and fast rule to how much water is enough. When you pee it should be clear. This means most of the urine content is water. This is good. If you urinate and it is yellow or gold, that means the salts and wastes in your urine are so undiluted that you can see their concentrated color. Drink more in this case.
