Question

Help answer this question below.

It is Jan 1st today. I just set a closing date on a house for the 26th. I need to get out of my lease. There is tons of mold all over the apartment and I want to know if I can get notes from doctors and inspectors saying it is a health hazard and leave

I haven't told them about the mold but I have told them repeatedly about leaks that they don't fix which I think is what has caused the mold. Haven't had anything in writing though. Thank you for your reply.

Did you ever report the mold to your landlord? If so did they write or call you back or send anyone out to inspect it? If you did you might be able to vacate without 30 days notice or if you are breaking a longer lease. If not, you will have dificulties in most states I think, even though it is moldy, since you did not report it and give the apartment owner or manager a fair chance to get the problem resolved.

You need to consult an attorney on this to be sure.
