  • Try to avoid stressing your throat by yelling or whispering, that's only going to make it worse. It may be an inconvenience to others for a while, but use a notepad if you have to. Other than that, all you can do is wait. Keep cough drops on hand, and plenty of water.
  • Try gargaling salt water.
  • Same thing happened to me. You now have scar tissue on your vocal cords from continuing to talk after laryngitis started, more than once. Mine eventually resolved, after several months, but i still cant scream (years later), like the football game kind. Next time you get it, DO NOT talk for 3 days, the inflammation will be greatly diminished. Otherwise, you will make scar tissue worse.
  • that happened to me for 3 months last year. it was weird, my voice would come and go whenever it felt like it.
