Did you ever get started off on the wrong foot with someone on Answerbag and then realize they weren't as bad as you thought?

    Yeah... a few times. I feel pretty bad about it now. Oh well. Let bygones be bygones. Thankfully my tussels with Antigone have evolved to proper debate, I would be missing out on a good friend otherwise.

    Yes. I find that disagreeing with some people is hard for them to take, and as such, they will A: argue with everything you say, B: follow you around and down-rate you, or C: launch personal attacks, during which time, I, unfortunately, Sling it right back at them.

    Not sure why- could be that we know it can't come to blows, so makes the fighting easier. Then we get tired and avoid each other for awhile.

    We should just be able to disagree without getting snotty and personal about someone's answer [unless they are totally offensive to a whole gender, or race, or...] ~sigh~

    I don't think I have.But I know for myself,it's difficult to completely understand someone via typed words.It's harder to know if they are being mean or negatively sarcastic or just funny and giving their opinion.I think that if we actually could hear eachother,then there would be less misunderstanding. :)

    Yeah, myself and CleverlyPut got into a recent scuffle and we took it off the AB and settled our little tiff via email. He is a cool guy and we are very civilized with each other now. He is not psychopathic. There are however some people who are totally nuts, they know who they are and I probably will never like them... BB and BG. Ah, such is life.
